MORE ABOUT THRIVING IN THE AFTERMATH

In 2016, just after my 20th wedding anniversary and around the time I published my 20th novel, my marriage suffered a devastating blow -- my husband did the unthinkable and cheated on me. I stopped writing and put all my energy into trying to save my marriage, only to discover my husband starting another affair five years later. Needless to say, this second betrayal resulted in divorce.

Along the way, my kids have continued to grow, the oldest leaving the nest, and I've survived two different types of cancer. I've been laid off from my job, suffered job instability pretty consistently, and then Covid-19 hit. Add a dash of menopause, throw in a little anxiety and a whole lot of depression, and as you can imagine, it has been one harrowing journey.

I know many other woman, and men, of course, have survived marital trauma, health issues, empty nesting, and whatever else the world has managed to throw at us. My goal, however, has not been to just survive, but to thrive. Now I'm sharing my journey in hopes of helping others thrive beyond their trauma.
